Q: Regarding Treaty of Amity application, I am an American director as well as a shareholder. Do I need to bring my passport in person and have it notarized at the U.S. embassy in Bangkok only? If I’d rather do it online, is it possible, or someone can do on my behalf?

Panwa: Please note that if you are an American citizen applying under the Treaty of Amity, the U.S. passport must be notarized as part of the required documentation. This notarization confirms your identity and citizenship status. Thus, you have to go there in person and have your passport notarized, cannot authorize proxy to do on behalf or done by online.
