Q: Can a company start operating before completing VAT registration?

Panwa: Yes. A company may start operating before registering for VAT. However, if the business meets the conditions requiring VAT registration, it must apply accordingly. Please note that the company cannot charge VAT or issue tax invoices to customers until the VAT registration is approved. Operating without proper VAT registration may result in penalties under Thai tax law.
