I relocated from Switzerland to Thailand since early of 2023 and I requested a tax residency certificate for year 2023 in Thailand to show the Switzerland government that I paid taxes in Thailand to avoid double taxation. Anyway, I would like to know this certificate has validity or it can be renewed?
Panwa: The tax residency certificate is issued by tax officer per year, per country which such certificate of that year has no validity. However, if you need the tax residency certificate for other years, you need to request from the tax officer again for such years.
For example, for your case for the tax residency certificate of 2023, you can use it as many times and any time for different purposes in one country (as stated on the certificate), but if you need for another country and another year, you need to request from the tax officer for such certificate again.
