My company is Vat registered for over 3 years. Currently, I have to relocate to my country for family purposes. I would like to temporary stop my business under this company and then, when I come back to Thailand, I will resume the business again. Thus, for this matter do I need to notify to the government?

Panwa: If you would like to temporary stop your business for more than 30 days, your company have to register for temporary stop for Vat registrant at the Revenue Department (RD) within 15 days from the date that your company stop to do the business. However, your company still has the responsibility to filing the VAT form (PP.30) each month as the same (even if don’t have transactions).

In addition, your company is not required to file a document for temporary stop with the Department of Development (DBD), however, your company still has the responsibility to filing annual financial statements.
